Protein Hydrolysates as Sustainable Feed Additives to Control Bacterial Infections in Aquaculture
A Portuguese university research centre active in biotechnology is developing protein hydrolysates enriched in bioactive peptides to be used as functional feed additives in aquaculture. The R&D project aims to reduce bacterial infections and fish mortality, contributing to lower antibiotic use. The technology has been validated at pilot scale in marine species. Industrial or research partners are sought for further development and scale-up under a research cooperation agreement.
